Administration NetIS™ (“The system”) is an e-publishing platform that allows the management of content, the definition of digital rights and authentication scenarios, the management of customers and customer e-commerce transactions, and the incorporation of marketing tools and text retrieval. The system provides a web-enabled administration interface. The System can allow the automatic generation of Search Engine Optimized (SEO) content, and the administration of SEO marketing tools and definitions. The system can allow the definition of administration security levels, rights and roles within the system The system can allow administration of the different aspects of the system, including configuration, language locale, file system and network settings etc. The system can allow the logging of audit information of every event that has transpired in the system. The system can allow export of the audit log for external usage. The system can provide a monitoring interface, which allows system users to define the elements and entities in the system they want to keep a close look at. The system provides a built-in reporting system, which analyzes the up-to-date audit information in the system, including customer transactions, royalty sharing, content consumption, and retrieval activities, with tools for the presentation and exporting of this valuable knowledge. The system provides a built-in alerting system, which can send messages to a specified list of administrators whenever a predetermined event occurs within the system. The system provides a built-in scheduling utility, for the automatic creation of reports and other administration routines within the system. ![]() Security Digital Rights Management (DRM) The system can allow actual content protection in a browser-based approach. The system can allow the definition of content distribution security levels, from clientless DRM to a more robust thin client installment. The system can allow setting users’ privileges and rights for each individual content item and for each individual user. The system can allow the protection, permissibility or limitations on standard functions, including viewing, selecting, copying, saving and printing online content in a regular web browser, including Internet Explorer and Gecko based browsers (such as Netscape, FireFox and Mozilla). The system can allow disabling screen capture tools. The system can allow text and media distortions (i.e. hide or change vulnerable information, provide low-res images to users with no rights etc.). The system can allow for the protection, permissibility or limitations of standard functions, including viewing, selecting, copying, saving and printing offline content in a regular PDF Viewer. The system can allow flexible management of the use of controlled functions, including the ability to set a right for a limited time, volume or limited number of uses. The system can allow auditing of user transactions or a user’s attempt to exceed authorized usage The system can handle secure PDF encryption, compatible with Adobe’s latest release of Acrobat, and generate 100% native PDF files opened in the free Adobe Reader and in Web browsers, The system defines the encryption keys programmatically and stores them in NetIS server and not inside the documents, leaving no “backdoor” for breaking the files encryption. Authentication and Concurrent Users The system can allow CRM functionalities to allow the management of customers within the system, maintain their details, rights and transactions. The system can allow a wide array of authentication tools and methods, including • Authentication by User name/Password, • Authentication by IP ranges and Network support, • Authentication by Software PC lock, Authentication of guest users (not logged in or not registered users) to provide limited usage rights (“Try before you Buy” and Teasers). The system can allow the limitation of user access to a specific computer or computers, supporting remote access tools so they will not be considered as the same access point. The system can allow for the online management of the logged computers, the history of each one, and the policy in case of an attempted breach. The system can allow limiting the number of concurrent users, limiting the access to a defined number of concurrent users, supporting remote access tools so that remote users shall be considered as unique users. The system can allow the online management of the concurrent users, and the proper policy in the following cases: • Each "above quota" login will be allowed but monitored (increased or illegal usage can be detected and acted upon later, by limiting access or by increasing the customer’s usage fees). • Warn the customer when the number of concurrent users is "above quota". • Unconditionally deny login when the number of concurrent users is “above quota”. The system can allow mobile authentication and registration. Secure content distribution The system can allow a flexible toolset for the encrypting of PDF files and authenticating users accessing these documents. The system can support rules and policies for the following scenarios: • Online Publication/Online Permissions – in which a user can get the document from the server in real-time, and the act of opening a secure PDF document will require a connection to that server in order to obtain the permissions to open the document. • Offline Publication/Online Permissions – in which a user can get the document from an offline source (e.g. mail message, a CD-ROM or disk on key) but the permission to open that document must be obtained in real-time from the server. • Offline Publication/Offline Permissions – in which a user can get the document from an offline source (e.g. CD-ROM) and has been given permission by the publisher, to open that document on the local machine without any communication with the server. ![]() Marketing The system can allow customized presentation of information (flexible and personal look and feel for hit list). The system can allow client side export to popular formats (Word, Excel, XML) of the hit list. The system can allow graphical representation and analysis of the aggregated information in the hit list (grouping results into Pie charts, allowing drill-down capabilities). The system can allow RSS support. The system can allow the distribution of the content in multiple environments and devices, including Mobile Internet Devices, such as the iPhone, iPod, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian devices.
