C.D.I. Systems has developed NetIS, the first e-publishing platform that integrates
Web Content Management (WCM), Digital Rights Management
(DRM) and e-commerce tools into a single, seamless
package for the support of premium content sales.
NetIS is a break away from the traditional 'all or
nothing' e-publishing model that requires customers
to purchase entire articles or books, or to pay exorbitant
fees for database subscriptions, just to access content
that may or may not be helpful.
In developing NetIS, C.D.I. Systems recognised the
market trend that consumers are willing to pay for
premium content, provided they can first preview it,
purchase only what they need, and receive delivery
in a useful form. By creatively marketing digital
content -rather than just managing it-NetIS serves
the interests of publishers, integrators, content
owners and end-users alike through flexibility and
personalisation, security, lower set-up costs and
integration and search and data manipulation.
Founded in 1992, C.D.I. Systems is
a privately owned software house headquartered in
Israel. Aspects of NetIS have been deployed in several
solutions including interactive legal productions
on CD-ROM, dynamic professional databases (both on-line
and on handheld devices), newspapers, phone directories,
electorate registries and encyclopaedias. CD.I. Systems
is a principle technology provider to Makrolog GMBH,
the leading supplier of electronic legal information
in Germany.
