JERUSALEM, Israel - November 12th, 2002 - C.D.I. Systems (E.P.I.) and The Institute for Hebrew Bibliography have announced the launch of a path-breaking commercial web site called "The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book". The site, found at: http://www.hebrew-bibliography.com, features a bibliographic database covering approximately 90% of all the books published in the Hebrew language over a period of 500 years - from the year 1473 to 1960. The Bibliography of the Hebrew Book also features a complete list of books in Ladino and thousands of books featuring text in Hebrew and Yiddish, as well as hundreds of books in lesser-known Jewish languages such as Judeo-Arabic and Bucharit.

Thanks to the NetIS™ e-publishing platform, this valuable resource can be placed on the Web without fear that the data will be stolen. The information is made available using various access models, based on predefined DRM strategies. Licensing options range from yearly, full-privilege network subscriptions, to limited privileges based on a prepaid access card. With NetIS™, this vast database can be purchased at a flexible, per-unit price by academic institutions and scholars around the world.

The NetIS™ WCM suite of tools ensures that this database will be updated on a regular basis with additional Hebrew volumes published after 1960.

The Institute for Hebrew Bibliography

The Institute for Hebrew Bibliography was established in 1960, under the joint direction of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, The Bialik Institute and The Israel Ministry of Education and Culture.
