C.D.I. Systems Announces the Integration of Concurrent Usage Management in NetIS

JERUSALEM---January 19, 2004--C.D.I. Systems, a developer of e-publishing solutions, today announced the integration of Concurrent Users Management with their premier e-publishing platform - NetIS™ version 3.6 (http://www.cdisys.com).

NetIS™ introduces a powerful mechanism which enables NetIS administrators and NetIS application developers to limit, control, and monitor concurrent usage and consumption of content.

NetIS application developers can implement a mixture of strict and lax policies in circumstances where concurrent usage levels are exceeded:

  • Allow but silently log each "above quota" login. By reviewing customer activities in NetIS Admin interface, the administrator can subsequently contact the customers and charge or promote the sales of additional licenses.
  • Warn when customers login "above quota". Customers can login or decline, though either choice is logged. Likewise, subsequent log review can yield marketing actions and billing.
  • Unconditionally deny login as long as all licenses in quota are in use.
  • "Intentional and unintentional piracy can occur when customers use your premium content on more seats than they have licensed", said Itzhak Levit, CEO of C.D.I. Systems. "Our new powerful mechanism proves that the idea of concurrent or simultaneous users on the Internet is not a fiction. NetIS Concurrent Users Management enables publishers to allow access for the exact number of licenses their customers intend to use. Employing this business model not only boosts your customers' satisfaction, but also considerably increases your revenues".
