C.D.I. Systems Announces the Official Release of NetIS™ 3.8 - higher visibility with additional
browsers and formats supported
September 2005, JERUSALEM---C.D.I. Systems, a developer of online publishing solutions, has announced
the release of the latest version of its premier online publishing platform -
NetIS™ version 3.8.
NetIS™ proceeds to combine (strong) leading web content management
and DRM functionality with e-commerce tools to deliver a platform that controls the access to, and the
sale of, premium and sensitive content in a secure manner. Now it is even more robust with the new
features, functionality sets and interfaces that have been incorporated into version 3.8.
The latest version includes Concurrent Usage Management and application
policies that controls Customer concurrent access, and application behavior upon Customer's inconsistency
with limitations; a Cross-platform DRM Client and W3C Compliance, now
supporting a wider array of browsers: including Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers, and Gecko based
browsers (such as Netscape, Mozilla or Firefox); Cumulative Rights enables,
on top of time-limitations, the cumulatively measured time or consumption (volume) of content;
Default DRM Profiles that define access rights granted to Customers before
they purchased anything, or when their access rights expire); an improved Reporting
Mechanism that provides a simple GUI for available sales reports; PDF
Support allows the upload and index of PDF files in NetIS (including PDF password-protected
files), and distribution in Acrobat PDF Reader.
Already using the new version is "Globes" - Israel's daily business newspaper, this new e-commerce
solution for their English language archives, includes a sophisticated search engine that enables items
in the archive to be searched rapidly and with high precision, once again proving NetIS spread is very
wide, also suitable for the unique business models encapsulated in newspapers and archives.
NetIS™ is well known for its outstanding flexibility when offering
the content owner with powerful tools integrated into a comprehensive platform", noted Ely Calderon,
deputy CEO of C.D.I. Systems. "The additional reach, provided by the release of NetIS 3.8, answers to
the trends and standards within the DRM market, without losing NetIS unique granular proposition to the
content owner - robust DRM capabilities, commercialization of content and low deployment costs."
