The Responsa Project received yesterday (April 24 2007) the Israel Prize in the field of Torah
literature for the year 2007. The Israel Prize is the most highly regarded award in Israel and is
presented to the recipient in the presence of Knesset members, the Prime Minister, the President
and Supreme Court Judges of Israel.

Among others, the judges emphasized that "the Responsa Project combines Torah with advanced technology"
as Rav Kook wrote: "the ancient would be renewed and the new would be sanctified." It has been said that
no other application is so serious and so successful in using the modern progressive tool to enrich the
Jewish studies in Israel as becomes in the Responsa Project.
