C.D.I. Systems and FileOpen Systems Inc sign OEM
agreement for the support of secure Adobe PDF in NetIS
|
November 03 2008, NEW YORK/JERUSALEM -- C.D.I. Systems Ltd.
|
|
(www.cdisys.com) a premier high-tech solution provider for the
online publishing market and FileOpen Systems Inc
(www.FileOpen.com), an Adobe Security Partner since 1997 and a
worldwide leader in digital rights management software for the
Adobe PDF platform, have signed an OEM agreement. This will enable the integration, and use
of FileOpen WebPublisher™, an enterprise designed solution for encrypting PDF files and
authenticating users, as a feature within CDI Systems' NetIS™ online publishing platform.
|
|
The integrated product -NetIS PDF Extension™ utilizes the same NetIS Digital Rights
Management user interface used for HTML/XML files, allowing management of separate online
and offline protection capabilities.
FileOpen's WebPublisher plugs into NetIS management console, interfaces and processes,
without the need to change any of the existing business logic rules, work processes or
technical skills NetIS requires.
|
NetIS PDF Extension Features
-
Automatic handling of secure PDF encryption, compatible with Adobe's latest release of
Acrobat 9. Generating 100% native PDF files opened in the free Adobe Reader and in
Internet Explorer or other Web browsers , without the end-user requirement to
download and install a third-party viewer to open the secured PDF.
-
Programmatic definition of encryption keys in NetIS server and not inside the
documents, leaving no "backdoor" of breaking the files encryption (Using secure SSL
protocols and RC4 with a 128-bit key encryption) to balance the need for broad
compatibility with the diversity of Adobe Reader versions and operating system
configurations.
-
Like in HTML protection, access control to the PDF files would include expiration,
concurrent-usage limitations, copying, saving and printing restrictions, integrating
seamlessly with customers' firewall, workflows and NetIS based applications.
Itzhak Levit, CDI Systems' CEO says: "We have been looking to extend NetIS PDF protection
capabilities and after reviewing several solutions we found WebPublisher™ as the strongest
and most practical solution in the market. CDI Systems is a Microsoft Certified Partner, and as
such we are aware of the value and contribution of adopting a solution provided by a certified
Adobe Security Partner such as FileOpen Systems".
"This OEM agreement will enable publishers with offline and online needs to visually manage
their PDF protection, users rights and permissions from their familiar NetIS interface , with our
WebPublisher™ technology as the security engine running in the background" added Elizabeth
Murphy, FileOpen Systems' VP Sales and Marketing, "because of the natural synergic power of
the two systems, we anticipate NetIS to be a great reselling force of our technology".
