Unlike traditional e-commerce approaches, developed for the sale of commodities,
NetIS™ has been designed for the secure sales of digital assets.
NetIS™ e-commerce module enables the authentication of
customers through various approaches: user name and password, IP ranges, hardware plugs,
Concurrent Users' Management, and PC lock-on. With the unique Concurrent Users Management,
NetIS administrators can implement a mixture of policies applied when concurrent usage level
is exceeded (Access denial, warnings or silent logging for later follow up). NetIS "Lock-On"
mechanism" can transparently determine the specific authorized PC's that are allowed to access
the content with no need for cumbersome installations or hardware plugs.
These authentication methods allow in turn countless sale scenarios (Try before you buy
teasers, cumulative time or volume, and frequency or functionality counters) as well as
payment interfaces (Pay per use, pre-paid accounts, subscriptions or micropayments).
NetIS™ e-commerce module also includes content handling & marketing
tools that enable end users to extract additional value from content. Examples include customized presentation
of information (flexible and personal look and feel for results), visual representation of the results
(auto-creation of pie charts or other graphs to statistically analyze the information in the results) and
online campaign management tools, allowing the export of the information to popular formats (Word and Excel)
or the creation of mail-merge campaigns.
NetIS™ e-com administration interface includes a built-in reporting system,
analyzing the up-to-date audit information regarding customer transactions, royalty sharing, content consumption,
and retrieval activities, with tools for the presentation and exporting of this valuable knowledge.
NetIS™ e-commerce module has an open API, designed for the integration
with external systems such as billing systems, through SOAP or COM interfaces.
